There’s nobody hanging over me and saying you have to do this or that. But that
doesn’t mean that there aren’t surprises and it can be an extraordinarily intense
environment. The emotions can run high since people care so passionately about the
music and what we are doing.
When examining the writings of evolutionists there are some things that become
really apparent from the earlier writings until more recent ones.
The concept that I employ in my music, is to consider each song as a complete unit with each instrument having his centre from which each performs independently .The improvisation is continuous; each instrument creates an element of the whole, responding to the total creative energy.
This is the fundamental principle underlining my music, in that it extends into all the areas of music-making. The forms that I use in my music are traditional, contemporary and experimental. I am an improviser, and my music is for the improviser. The works offers a world of sound and rhythm as diverse as the many different components..
I can at any one time have a million excuses for not composing – but no matter my
mood, when I choose to just walk up to my gear, I instantly begin to manifest new
excitement, and within minutes I become the real me, expressing my true nature as it
takes over whatever else may be going on at the time .
